Well this week was... interesting. So my companion got a call on tuesday from the mission president, and was informed that he would be training a new missionary that would be coming in next week. Which is weird because its the middle of the transfer, but since he's training that means that i'm leaving for a new area, which kinda sucks because its the middle of the transfer, and because i've gotten pretty comfortable in this area, but on the other hand i'm pretty excited to have a new area. i'm being transfer to an area called castelão, which is where the huge soccer stadium in fortaleza is, so that will be cool, and i guess my area is where that church started getting popular here, so hopefully that means that there are a lot of members there. i havent met my companion yet, i will tomorrow, but his name is Elder LeBlue, and he's american, and from what i've heard he is kinda weird and doesnt speak portuguese very well, so this should be interesting. but nonetheless i'm excited.
As for the rest of this week, its been a little hard lately finding new people to teach, but we did get a chance to talk to a members dad, who isnt a member, and he is probably the smarted guy i have met here so far. We started talking about the church and he already knew the whole history and everything, although he did have some false information mixed in there too, but either way he was pretty much awesome. As for the people that we've been working with for baptism this week, they are kinda becoming a little.... uninteresting, which has been difficult, we've got 2 girls that we've been working with for a while now, and they seemed pretty excited about baptism, but lately they've been dodging us, so we havent even talked to them for a week now, which kinda sucks, but it happens. And one woman who we've been working with who was supposed to get baptized yesterday starting getting attacked with doubts a few days ago, and decided not to get baptized this week.I've realized how much you start to care about these people once you start teaching them, and it sucks when they decide not to do something that you know will change their life for the better. But anyways, till next week! Write me a letter!

week 9
well another good week here in fortaleza brazil! oh and by the way if anyone wants to know specifically where i am then just look up Henrique Jorge Fortaleza Brazil, and you'll be able to see where i´m livin! so anyways, this week was... interesting to say the least. so starting monday fortaleza went into a state of "hostile", because for some reason the government decided to stop paying the police, so the police stopped working, which meant that every thief in fortaleza was out taking advantage of basically having no laws. so naturally it was pretty dangerous, one guy that lives down the street from us got shot 4 times, and died the next day. which is a story in itself because the girlfriend of the guy that got shot is a less active members whose granddaughter we're trying to baptize, so just a lot of crazy stuff goin on here. so that day we we're only aloud to be out until 6 at night, and we only carried around a book of mormon that day in case we got mugged. but thankfully everything was okay that day and we didnt encounter any danger, but the bad part was that nobody would open their door to let us in, so we didnt teach anyone that day. the next day things calmed down a lot more, and the day after everything was back to normal. so we've got about 5 people that we are working with right now that a pretty much ready to get baptized, but things just didnt work out this week and no one got baptized, but hopefully they will go in the water next week, the biggest problem we seem to have here is just getting people to actually go to church. the church is pretty far, and no one has a car here pretty much, so its a pretty big hassle trying to get people to go. we did have one woman in church this week, she's awesome and will most likely be baptized next week. so lots of good things goin on here, can definitely see how the Lord is really the one that is guiding this work, and we are all just tools in his hands. well thats about all for this week, i'll try to have some more interesting stories in the future!
